Jimmy James

Montreal based blues guitarist Jimmy James has a unique and original blend of styles. Never one to be pegged, his ever evolving sound pushes the limits of rhythm, blues, jazz, rock, country, fusion, classical and funk. It's a diverse mix for a master guitar player who is both grounded and rocks on the edge of wild.

With fingers that move at incredible speeds and a dexterity that seems at odds with his calm and easygoing presence, he is both immensely talented and the guitar player other guitar players love to watch.

Jimmy's playing reflects many influences, but never copies. No learning how to play a song the way it sounds on the record - his guitarwork is inventive and innovative, based on his own very different way of seeing music.

He is constantly stretching, experimenting and expanding. You will never see him play a song the same way twice, so he is always exciting to watch.

What people say about Jimmy...

Quel guitariste extraordinaire!

He takes Hendrix to another level... sorta like Zappa plays Hendrix? but no, Jimmy James is unique! magic ...

There you have it! One of the most underrated guitarists in the world! I have to thank Randy Bachman for introducing me to his music on his Vinyl Tap radio program some years back. No exaggeration, this guy is simply phenomenal.

Fluid, effortless liquid playing

He is the king of guitar!

This guy can blow away many multi-millionnaire guitar heroes. And he's totally unassuming... except with a Strat in hands!

magnifique ! un des plus grand  guitariste de blues sur la planète  ;-)

J'aime beaucoup Jimmy James, il mélange pleins de style dans sa musique et je ne me tanne jamais d'aller le voir en spectacle.

Holy smoke!  Someone suggested I should check out Jimmy James, and I'm glad I did...yep, he totally rocks.

It's nothing under WONDERFUL !  One of my greatest inspirations ever !

-.../his influences are truly absorbed, rather than recycled.  Aside from James's obvious control of his instrument and a voice that compliments the material, this is music that is felt close to the heart and played right to the bone.
